School Begins

After the start of school the number of children I see on a weekly basis increased and apparently the children love me. One of my first assignment a small first or second grader ran up and gave me a hug. I was a little confused, but just patted him on the back and he went back to the lunch line.

When Twilight/Edward Cullen/Robert Pattinson fans in the Chattanooga area heard the rumor that part of the movie would be filmed here they went crazy. I couldn’t believe the women (and a few males) who stayed for a full day waiting to get a glimpse of the actor. It was my first semi-attempt at being a paparazo and it was tough. Best thing about the day, I conquered the 500mm lens.

I’ll sum up a few of my favorites from July in the next few days…

To begin:

This was a day camp that explored the pond at a nature park near the new VW plant in Chattanooga.

The past two months have been the longest, but happiest months I can remember having in quite some time. I attribute most of this to my internship.

Everyday brings something new and my co-workers are fantastic. Now that I have my first Monday off, I’ll start a photographic update of my photojournalism adventures:

Above was my first solo assignment. On Amnicola Highway one half of a Krystal building is being put on to the foundation to form a new restaurant.

Since I started the last week of June, that was really my only assignment for the month. I did manage to pick up this wild art photo and it ran in the metro section.

There is truly nothing better than having a job you love.
